The “O Fortuna” prologue of the famous cantata “Carnima Burana” by Carl Orf was performed by Arina Domski on the stage of the National Opera of Ukraine. This composition was one of the brightest and successful that evening. The composition is based on the allegory with the Wheel of Fortune and the goddess of Faith.
In medieval times, the Wheel of Fortune symbolized mortality of all earthly things and the fragility of human happiness. The source for this composition was found in medieval manuscripts in the beginning of XIX century at a monastery of Benedict followers situated in the Bavarian Alps.
Arina conquered the audience with her strong operatic vocal, original sound of the composition and colorful image. That evening had politicians, cultural activists and mass media representatives as guest for the show..
